He was a high net worth individual, so affordability was not an issue. Our client already owned a residential property in the UK, however they were looking to create a portfolio of buy to let mortgage properties in the north of England.<\/p>\n<p>Our client was living in the UK on a tier 2 visa, which can occasionally preclude applicants from the best mortgage rates, as many lenders prefer those with a permanent right to reside. The client\u2019s desire to achieve the best rates meant that they were looking to leverage as high as possible in order to take advantage of the low interest rates currently offered in the UK. This enabled us to secure a highly competitive rate on a mortgage of \u00a3316,000 against a property price of \u00a3422,000.<\/p>\n<p>We were also able to ensure that the buy to let mortgage was interest only, which would allow the client to move on to further properties in order to increase their personal portfolio.
